The new year is the perfect time to make new goals for ourselves. You may have made goals to exercise, eat better, read your Bible more, be more organized - but have you made any resolutions about your vehicles? Here are 3 to get you started!
1. Resolve to get Regular Maintenance
Maybe you've forgotten to get regular oil changes in the past - it's easy to do! Let this be the year where you take better care of your car, and know what services are due and when. Since we do a full car inspection at every service, we can catch needed repairs early and allow you to budget for them. Oil changes and checkovers will save you money in the long term, which may help you with some of your other goals (like saving for that next big purchase).
2. Resolve to Keep Your Car Clean
Having a clean car may not be a priority for you, but you may want to resolve to make it one! Car washes help keep corroding salts from sticking to your car in the winter and dirt and mud in the spring and summer. If not washed off, dirt and salt can lead to rust to the parts underneath your car, leading to early damage. A clean car is also 10% more fuel efficient than a dirty car!
3. Resolve to Drive Smarter
Accelerating hard from a light just to stop hard at the next stoplight not only makes your passengers carsick, it is also hard on your vehicle. If nothing else, it consumes a lot of unnecessary fuel. If you don't want to cause early damage to your transmission or other drivetrain components, consider a resolution to have a gentler take off. If you want to extend the life of your brakes, consider giving yourself more time to stop. Your passengers will thank you, and so will your wallet.
The Takeaway
Maybe you already do all of these things. If so, good for you for taking care of your vehicle! If you aren't doing them now, are you ready to start? Do you have any other resolutions for your cars this year?
